ABOUT TOWN:
Larry Rinkel will be showcasing seven of his short plays in a eight-performance run entitled "Rinkels and Fine Lines: An Evening Of Short Plays By Larry Rinkel." This production is scheduled to run between April 28-May 4 at the American Theatre of Actors, 314 W. 54 Street in New York City. Four directors and 23 actors will present this showcase. All proceeds from the box office will be donated to the non-profit Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation (https://mhopus.org/), which "keeps music alive in our schools by providing vital support services to school districts, and musical instruments to underfunded music programs nationwide, giving under-represented youth access to the many benefits of music education, leading them to success in school, and inspiring creativity and expression through playing music." But to fund this production we need your help, and therefore we have established an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to meet our goal by April 5: https://igg.me/at/B8rSB94qOzg/x/38491553.
Debut Theater Company's 2025 season starts off with a bang! THE PENTHOUSE SUITE is opening May 3 at BACCA, followed by performances in Northport on May 17-18. You'll love this original play about wholly likeable folks trying to hold onto their rent-controlled apartment while the forces of progress close in on their rickety old building. Antique toys, an extremely rare spider, and the world's best coffee set the stage for a charming love story. With Meg Coyne, Robert Budnick, James Rappa, Rosemary Kurtz, and Sydney Matuszak, directed by Martin Knapp, Tickets at debutco.booktix.com or at the door.
The Artistic Director of Kingdom Theatre is inviting a limited number of successful writers to be panelists for the upcoming Spring Conference Saturday May 3rd 2025, @1pm to 5pm. This one-day conference is to empower, inspire and uplift theatre artists, producers and directors. “Successful” is defined as accomplishing an aim or purpose; being consistent with it.“ The topic for the panel discussion is “Where Do We Go From Here?” Once you get started in the business, how to achieve and maintain success, even during ever changing times.
The conference features the panel discussion, live music performances, catered food and 1 World Premiere 1 Act Play, A CAPTAIN FOR ALL TIME, by Gloria Schramm. A $50 donation from Kingdom Theatre will be given for your participation. We are a residency at the Wadleigh Secondary School for the Visual and Performing Arts, 215 W. 114th St, Harlem, NYC, where the May 3rd event will take place. Our works are frequently mentioned in Broadway World. Please confirm with Nickolas that you would like to accept the invitation. He can be reached at kingdommtctheatre@gmail.com or (347) 843-9932.
